The tracheotomy is a surgical opening in the high trachea under the larynx, through the establishment of an endotracheal tube to ensure permeability of airways.
In case of a larynx cancer, the tracheotomy consists in a larynx removal.
Following a tracheotomy, a protection of the upper respiratory tract must be installed.
Running close collaboration with several ENT and pneumology departments concerning the tracheotomy, Ceredas has developed a tracheal protection system: Tracheoclean T. This single-use system simplifies postoperative care of the tracheotomy and protects the opening stoma. It also acts as a tracheal filter.
This tracheal protection system can be used during the post-operative period and by patients after their return home.
This non-woven mechanism is much more convenient to use than the usual dressings and requires no special maintenance.
