HANDS- FREE VALVE FOR THE PHONATION
WITH VOICE PROSTHESIS |

The hands-free or automatic valve, the CyValveFreedom™ is fastened on the CyAdaptor™ universal adaptor and assembled, either on the CyTubeMajor™ tube/support, or on the base of the Cyranose® HME*.
This device allows the laryngectomy patient with a voice prosthesis to speak, without having to manually obstruct his tracheostoma. The CyValveFreedom™ is based on a simple principle, that of a pre-formed silicon membrane that, during a more sustained or forced expiration, spreads out to close the opening of the valve.

It is often tedious for the largyngectomy patient to adjust an automatic valve, in particular when the components are too small or difficult to manipulate. To overcome these disadvantages, the CyValveFreedom™ comes with a half-moon shaped stop device that is embedded in the CyAdaptor™ and, along with the rotation of the valve, allows the opening to be suitably adjusted in order to breathe and speak.
It may be used on a support such as the CyTubeMajor™ and combined with the foam filter and the secretion trap of the Cyranose® HME*, the CyValveFreedom™, in both cases, proves to be a perfect Heat and Moisture Exchanger..
