| THE BENEFITS OF THE CYRANOSE® HME* SYSTEM. |
|
A total laryngectomy results in :
Inability to filtrate air.Inhaling particles and pollution in the trachea and bronchial passages causes coughing.
Inability to warm air. Stimulation of the nerve endings of the trachea's respiratory epithelium, causing a build-up of mucus.
Inability to humidify air. Drying and irritation of the trachea's respiratory epithelium causing the formation of mucus crusts and plugs.
Cyranose® is designed to restore the patient's breathing function, closely reproducing natural breathing, through the use of an artificial nose. |
|
|
|
| |
The artificial nose must :
- Act as filter that performs as efficiently as in the upper respiratory tracts.
- Effectively recover heat and humidity in exhaled air.
- Effectively retain expectorate while being easy to clean.
- Be sized for ambulatory use as well as being user-friendly and inconspicuous.

THE CYRANOSE® CONCEPT :
CONCLUSIVE TEST RESULTS |
|
Performance tests to measure and quantify filtering, heating and humidification of the Cyranose® device have been conducted by the Laboratoire National d'Essais in partnership with the CNED
These tests were followed by a series of clinical tests over 3 months on 65 laryngectomees.
Finally, a study conducted among 600 users confirmed the findings of the multi-centric study and highlighted the market potential for artificial noses or ECH Cyranose®. |
